On Sunday, August 2nd, 18,000 people gathered in the new Earthquakes Avaya Stadium to support the cause for buzz free driving. This was a day long event hosted by LifeSaver, Farmers Insurance, MADD, and many more great sponsors, to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and drunk driving. LifeSaver manned the pre-game booth to pass out Pledge2Unplug swag to game attendees, and although it ended in a tie, it was great watching the game with all our LifeSaver supporters. After the game, over 150 select guests had the opportunity to attend our post-game event to hear Jacy Good speak. Jacy Good is a nationally known public speaker and advocate for cell phone-free roads. After suffering her own accident caused by a distracted driver, she works tirelessly presenting at over 500 engagements to educate the country about the dangers of phone use behind the wheel. We are proud to have Jacy as a partner who certifies our LifeSaver solution as one of the best.
Although this event was a single day, a successful day at that, Buzz Free Driving Day is more than just a one-day event. It is a brand that deserves more awareness and that is why we’ve created buzzfreedriving.com. We along with the entire coalition want to ensure that the dialogue in support of “buzz free driving” continues to stay at the forefront of public awareness locally, but also to encourage this dialogue to gather momentum nationally as well.
